How do I make the love of Allah my primary goal in life?

The love of Allah is a goal for every believer who seeks His pleasure, and it is achieved by strengthening faith and avoiding its causes of weakness. The most important means for this are performing the obligatory duties and consistently observing the supererogatory acts, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, relating from his Lord: "My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have made obligatory upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory acts until I love him..." Among the reasons for Allah's love are frequent repentance and maintaining purity, for Allah the Almighty says: (Indeed, Allah loves those who repent and He loves those who purify themselves), and loving believers and righteous people and being humble towards them, for Allah the Almighty says: (Then Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people whom He will love and who will love Him; humble toward the believers, firm against the disbelievers...).
