Is there a legally prescribed period between the first, second, and third pronouncements of divorce?

Revocable divorce affects a woman as long as she is within her waiting period, because she is considered to be like a wife. Divorcing a woman more than once during her waiting period is an innovated (bid'i) divorce. The husband has the right to take his wife back during her waiting period. If he has intercourse with her, the waiting period is broken. If she then menstruates after the restitution and becomes pure, he may either keep her or divorce her, as is mentioned in the hadith of Ibn Umar.
