What is the Sharia ruling on adoption by someone who has no children, with the adoptee inheriting from me, given that the law permits it?

Adoption is not permissible in Islamic law, and it does not entail legal rulings such as inheritance or the establishment of mahramiya (prohibition of marriage). A law that permits what Islamic law has forbidden, or forbids what Islamic law has permitted, does not alter the reality of the Islamic legal ruling. It is incumbent upon a Muslim to reject such a law.
