Is it permissible for a husband to have intercourse with a maid based on the interpretation of "what your right hands possess"?
Most female domestic workers are not permitted to have intercourse with the tenant or anyone else, as they are non-, unless a legitimate marriage contract, fulfilling all its pillars and conditions, has been established with them. As for slave-girls (imaa’ مملوكات), their masters are permitted to have intercourse with them, provided she is not a mahram to him. However, this type of relationship is virtually non-existent today. Therefore, men must be careful with female domestic workers and treat them as non-mahram women. Women, on the other hand, should strive to prevent their husbands and sons from intermingling with them, and they should instruct female domestic workers to observe and not to enter upon men when they are alone. The questioner should admonish her husband, advise him to repent, and prevent him from intermingling with the domestic worker.
