1. Is the financial expiation for making up the missed days of Ramadan due to menstruation, which was given to a sick maternal uncle, sufficient, or must it be given as food? 2. All the days that were broken must be made up. Expiation (fidyah) is not obligatory if the questioner was unaware of the impermissibility of delaying the make-up fasts. However, if she was aware of it, then the expiation is feeding one needy person for each day, and some scholars permit giving its monetary value. It is permissible to give the expiation to the maternal uncle if he is among those eligible to receive it.

It is not permissible to give expiations and zakat to the mother and grandmother, but it is permissible to give them voluntary charity.

Pink discharge is menstruation, and prayer and fasting should be abandoned for its sake. As for yellowish and brownish discharge, it is not considered menstruation unless it is connected to blood.
