Is fasting obligatory for an epileptic patient who takes medication regularly and needs to eat to alleviate the medication's severity on the stomach, and if not, how much is the compensatory feeding (fidyah) due from him?

If one is able to fast and take medication at pre-dawn meal (suhoor) and after breaking the fast (iftar), then fasting is obligatory upon them. If they are unable to do so, they are permitted to break their fast, and they must make up for the missed days whenever they are able. However, if a trustworthy doctor determines that their illness is incurable, then they must feed a poor person for each day missed. The amount for this is approximately 750 grams of rice or its equivalent.
