What is the ruling on not seeking forgiveness from individuals whose old wounds, related to past actions, might reopen if forgiveness were sought from them, especially with the fear of repercussions?

If you sincerely repent to Allah, abandon the sin, feel remorse, and resolve not to return to it, we hope that Allah will accept your repentance, as He says: "And He is the One who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons sins, and He knows what you do." You must conceal your own sin and seek forgiveness for the person with whom you committed the indecency if it was without their consent, and do not tell them what happened.
