Shaving the beard is forbidden, and growing it is obligatory. However, it may be permissible to shave or trim it in cases of extreme necessity, such as fear for oneself or one's family from killing, imprisonment, displacement, or unbearable harm like dismissal from work or severe restriction of essential livelihoods. But if the harm is minor and bearable, it is not permissible to shave it, and enduring the harm is better.
