Is it permissible to dedicate a plot of land as an endowment for one's children, so they may benefit from its produce, on condition that they recite the Quran for their father?

It is permissible for a father to dedicate an endowment (waqf) to his children during his lifetime. If he delivers it to them and they take possession, it becomes effective, and the condition that they recite the Quran does not invalidate it, as this is a legitimate condition. However, if the father does not deliver the land to his children during his lifetime, it does not become an endowment but rather an inheritance. It is advisable to consult the Sharia courts regarding this matter. It is also commendable to show kindness to the father by giving charity on his behalf and reciting the Quran for him.
