Is it true that Allah Almighty longs to meet the righteous servant who is committed to Islam and dies longing to meet his Lord, and is there any evidence for this from the Quran and Sunnah?

The soundest of what has been narrated concerning this is the hadith in the Two Sahihs: "Whoever loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him; and whoever dislikes to meet Allah, Allah dislikes to meet him."

The meaning is that when a believer is on their deathbed, they are given glad tidings of Allah's pleasure and honor, so they love to meet Allah. And when a disbeliever is on their deathbed, they are given tidings of Allah's punishment and chastisement, so they dislike to meet Allah.
