What is the ruling on items loaded with non-original software that were used out of ignorance of their unlawfulness, and do they become permissible for the user after repentance?

It is not permissible to use protected software programs without the permission of their owners, as this constitutes an infringement of their rights. Whoever does this must pay the value of the benefits they forfeited and the damages they incurred. This value should be paid to the owning entity if possible; otherwise, it should be given as charity. The damages should be estimated by experts. As for what has been downloaded through these programs, such as Qur'an or permissible songs, there is no harm in benefiting from them.
