Did you wrong the girl by getting engaged to her, then breaking off the engagement after learning some details about her relationship with her ex-husband and the doubts you have about her virginity, especially after she had become attached to you?

Familiarity between young men and women and love relationships with the intention of marriage is a door to temptation. The suitor is a stranger to the fiancée until the legal contract is concluded. Therefore, it is impermissible to be in seclusion (khalwa), exchange words of love, or engage in extensive conversation without need, let alone discuss marital intimacy. There is no harm in marrying a divorced woman. If the woman is religious and of good character, go back to propose to her and rely on Allah. If you are not desirous of marrying her and wish for a virgin, there is no blame upon you and you are not sinful for breaking off the engagement if there is a valid reason.
