The question

What should I do, as the doors of provision have been closed in my face after my engagement to a girl whose virginity I took and then repented? Is this an indication that God did not approve of her for me? Should I break off the engagement to search for another, especially since my fiancée is a "woman with an evil eye" and I suffer from lustful desires?

The answer

You must repent sincerely and adhere to the fear of Allah and distance yourself from what He has forbidden, for repentance and piety are the cause of success. If there is love between the two parties, then marriage is best for those who love each other, as it is more conducive to chastity and enrichment, as Allah Almighty says: "And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous of your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing." If marriage is not possible, then you must be chaste and supplicate. If the attachment is not strong, there is no impediment to dissolving the engagement and marrying someone else, because fulfilling an engagement is merely recommended.
