The wife has a right to be financially supported by her husband, a mandatory duty according to his capability, unless she is disobedient (nashiz). This includes maintenance and housing. A woman divorced with a revocable divorce (ṭalāq rajʿī) is entitled to maintenance and housing as long as she is in her waiting period (iddah). A woman divorced with an irrevocable divorce (ṭalāq bā’in) who is pregnant is entitled to maintenance and housing.
