Who are the women the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw, who said to him: "We are beautiful and virtuous women, women of a righteous people; they were purified and not defiled, they stood firm and did not depart, and they were made eternal and did not die"?

The women responsible are the houris (Hoorein), as Ibn Kathir narrated from Ibn Abi Hatim, from Anas ibn Malik, that Jibril (Gabriel) asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, if he had asked his Lord to show him the houris. He replied, "Yes." So Jibril ordered him to greet them, and they were sitting to the left of the rock. He greeted them, and they returned the greeting. He asked them, "Who are you?" They replied, "We are good and beautiful ones, wives of righteous people, who were purified and did not become defiled, who remained steadfast and did not depart, and who were made eternal and did not die."
