What is the ruling on naming a newborn girl "Su'dad"?

There is no harm in naming a newborn girl Sudad, because Sudad means honor (sharaf), and it is derived from leadership (siyadah), which signifies a high status and an elevated position. In Islamic terminology, a 'sayyid' (leader/master) is one who strives to improve the condition of people in both their worldly life and their afterlife. Sudad is honor, and it has also been said to mean forbearance and generosity.
