What is the ruling on one who reviles the Messenger (peace be upon him) in a dream and under the influence of Satan?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

A sleeping person is not held accountable for what occurs from him in his sleep, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The pen has been lifted from three: from the madman whose mind is overcome, from the sleeper until he awakens, and from the child until he reaches puberty." What a person sees of insults in a dream is from Satan, and its remedy is to seek refuge in Allah from Satan and from the evil of what he saw, to spit to the left three times, to turn over from the side he was on, not to tell people about it, and to pray.

If he does these things, then what he saw will not harm him at all.
