What is the ruling on writing the majestic name "Allah" in English as "Allah" or "Abdullah"?

If there is a need to write "Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam" in English, such as when the intended reader does not understand Arabic, then there is no harm in it. However, if there is no such need, then it should not be done.
