Is it permissible to use a Qur'anic verse out of its original context of revelation, such as using the verse: {And Allah wants to accept your repentance, and those who follow [their] desires want you to deviate [with] great deviation. It is permissible to deduce general rulings from a verse revealed for a specific reason, because, according to the majority of scholars, the lesson lies in theality of the wording, not the specificity of the reason. Many Shari'ah rulings are built upon this principle. Scholars have indeed used some of these verses to support the principle of removing hardship and facilitating matters in Islamic law.
