The accredited books vary among the different schools of thought. For the Hanafi school, they include: Al-Ikhtiyar li-Ta'lil al-Mukhtar, Al-Bahr al-Raiq, and Radd al-Muhtar. For the Maliki school: Al-Sharh al-Saghir by Al-Dardir, Hashiyat al-Dasuqi, and Sharh al-Kharshi 'ala Mukhtasar Khalil.
