The jurists have agreed on the prohibition of shaking hands with a young foreign woman (one who is not a ). They differed regarding an old woman; the Hanafis and Hanbalis permitted it if there was no fear of fitna (temptation or discord), while the Malikis and Shafi'is prohibited it.
