How do we respond to the specious argument that the verse: "And Allah will protect you from the people" was not fulfilled, and that the attempt to poison the Prophet (peace be upon him) contradicts his infallibility?

Allah raised Christ as a salvation for him from being killed, and this is affirmed in the Holy Quran, whereas the distorted Gospels of the Christians mention his crucifixion and killing. As for the statement that the honor of the Prophet of Islam is less than that of Christ, it is incorrect. Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is the most honorable and best of creation. Allah has特 bestowed upon him many miracles, including his informing that the sheep he ate from was poisoned, and he lived for years thereafter. Allah combined for him immunity from direct killing and martyrdom, and this is an honor and an immunity. Doubting Allah’s ability to protect His Messenger indicates blindness of heart and malice.
