The sham marriage, intended to achieve worldly interests, is impermissible. This was stated in a resolution issued by the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America. If the husband is Christian, there is another prohibition, as the marriage of a Muslim woman to a disbeliever is forbidden by Islamic law, according to the consensus of jurists. This might lead to the man dominating you under the pretext of marriage, with laws supporting him. Therefore, the prohibition of this act is affirmed. Instead, seek a righteous Muslim man for marriage, and seek assistance from trustworthy individuals in Islamic centers.
