How can one reconcile the events of the Hadith of the Ifk (Slander) and Surat An-Nur, which was revealed in the 6th year of Hijra, with the mention of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh, who died in the 5th year of Hijra, and the Prophet's marriage to Zaynab bint Jahsh, which took place after the Battle of the Confederates (Al-Ahzab)? And did the Battle of Al-Muraysi' occur and did the Prophet marry Zaynab before Shawwal of the fifth year of Hijra?

Surat An-Nur was revealed due to the incident of the Ifk (slander) that occurred during the Battle of Al-Muraysi'. Scholars differed on the exact timing of this battle. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar preferred the view that it was in Sha'ban of the fifth year of the Hijra, before the Battle of Al-Khandaq (the Trench). As for the Prophet's marriage to Zaynab bint Jahsh, the majority of scholars preferred the view that it was in the fourth year of the Hijra, and Ibn Sayyid al-Nas mentioned that the verse of Hijab (veiling) was also revealed in that year.
