Is it permissible for me to use a stolen computer screen that I purchased, given that I cannot sell it or get a refund for the amount I paid?

It is forbidden to purchase stolen goods if the buyer is aware of it, due to the assistance it provides to the thief in sin and transgression, and because the thief does not own the stolen item. The buyer must return the stolen item to its owner and demand the price from the thief. If the buyer does not know the owner and despairs of identifying them, they should donate its value on behalf of the owner and demand from the seller (the thief) what they took from them. If the thief refuses, the matter should be referred to the judiciary.
