If a husband betrays his wife by committing an immoral act, it is recommended for her to seek a divorce from him as long as he persists in that state. If he mistreats her, she also has the right to seek a divorce, and she can bring his case before a judge to obtain a divorce from him. It is advisable to strive for the husband's reformation, urging him to repent and to live with her in kindness. If he does not respond, the wife may separate from him through divorce or khul'.
