Is the Companions' rectitude stipulated when considering the rectitude of narrators in the science of Prophetic Hadith?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The justice (trustworthiness) of the Companions —may Allah be pleased with them— is established by definitive texts from the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah, as Allah Almighty has praised and lauded them in numerous verses. Furthermore, the Sunnah is replete with hadiths that mention their virtues. Therefore, a Muslim does not need to investigate the justice of each Companion when studying any narration, for scholars have unanimously agreed upon their justice, and that all of them are trustworthy and pleasing.
