If I am voluntarily fasting and invited to a banquet, should I break my fast?

If one is invited to a meal while observing a non-obligatory fast, it is best for him to choose one of three options: completing the fast without accepting the invitation, or completing the fast while attending the banquet and supplicating for its hosts, or accepting the invitation and breaking the fast by eating. Eating is preferred if it mends the host's feelings, while completing the fast is preferred if the host's feelings will not be hurt. If one breaks a supererogatory fast, he is not required to make up that day.
