How can one deal with a father who provokes his son with words and actions, ridicules him in front of people, and taunts him about his mistakes, which leads the son to lose his temper and raise his voice, despite regretting it afterward?

The Islamic Sharia has granted parents a great status, making it obligatory to honor them and treat them kindly, even if they are disbelievers. So, if a father provokes his son and hurts his feelings in front of others, the son must be patient with him and honor him, especially if the father is old. It is possible to influence him by speaking gently and showing love and respect, and by asking for good treatment. One must be careful not to provoke the father, and raising one's voice at him is considered an act of disobedience (to parents). One must also beware of anger, as it is a path to evil.
