Does sponsoring an orphan for only one or two months fall within the meaning of the Prophet's (PBUH) hadith: "I and the sponsor of an orphan are like these two..." and does the doer receive the full reward?

Sponsoring an orphan extends until the orphan becomes independent of the sponsor, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever embraces an orphan from among two Muslim parents into his food and drink until he becomes independent of him, Paradise is certainly guaranteed for him." So, if the orphan becomes independent by reaching puberty or becoming wealthy, the sponsor receives the reward for the sponsorship. If the orphan is still in need of sustenance and the sponsor is unable to complete it due to an excuse, he will receive the full reward with the intention of completing the sustenance, based on the hadith "Actions are but by intentions" and "If a servant falls ill or travels, the reward for what he used to do when he was a resident and healthy will be written for him."
