Using the majestic name of God when seeking permission, such as saying "Subhan Allah" (Glory be to Allah) or "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah), is a blameworthy innovation (bid'ah). This is because it constitutes a lack of proper reverence in using the name of Allah, عز وجل (the Mighty and Majestic).
