What is the origin of the creation of animals? Is it similar to that of humans or different, and what is the evidence for that?

No clear, authentic evidence has been reported regarding the origin of the creation of animals, except for the Almighty's saying: "And Allah has created every [living] creature from water." Scholars interpret this to mean that water is semen or an important component in creation.

It is also stated in His saying, "And He brought forth for you from the livestock eight pairs," but the interpretation that they were created in Paradise and then sent down to Earth has not been established in an authentic hadith.

The most authentic report mentioned is that camels were created from jinn or devils, as in the hadith, "Do not pray in the resting place of camels, for they were created from the jinn." Is this to be taken literally, or is it a similitude for obstinacy and rebellion? There are two opinions among scholars on this matter. These issues should not be preoccupied with, as no action is contingent upon them.
