What is the meaning of the saying, "I came to know God through the breaking of resolutions"?

The meaning of "I knew my Lord by the dissolution of resolve" is that a person comes to know Allah's power through His management of His creation's affairs and His control over their wills and actions. For when a servant resolves to do something, and then turns away from it, he realizes that he has a Creator who directs his affairs.
