Why does the supplicant feel worry and sorrow despite drawing closer to Allah through performing acts of obedience, seeking forgiveness, and reciting the Qur’an? And why have their wishes and supplications not been fulfilled, and why have they not found success in their life, while they see that the dreams of others are realized through similar actions?

The believer lives in this world with the aim of worshipping Allah and attaining His pleasure and His Paradise. He submits to Allah's decree and destiny, realizing that Allah knows what is best for him and may destine good for him in what appears to be a trial. The believer strives in supplication, entrusts his affairs to Allah, and blames himself for shortcomings. If the believer grasps these meanings, let him strive in obedience to Allah for His sake alone, confident that he will attain the sweetness of worship and the joy of obedience. Nevertheless, one must be content with Allah's decree, surrender to His judgment, and strive in supplication, while taking measures to change one's situation, knowing that all of Allah's decree is good, mercy, wisdom, and benefit.
