What is the ruling on saying the Taslim immediately after the final Tashahhud and the prayer upon the Prophet up to the words: "as You blessed Abraham and the family of Abraham, indeed You are Praiseworthy and Glorious," without mentioning the supplication for refuge from the torment of Hellfire, the grave, the trials of life and death? Is the prayer valid in this case, and if so, should one say the Taslim immediately after "indeed You are Praiseworthy and Glorious" or should one say "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah" and then say the Taslim?

After the Tashahhud and the Salawat (praying for the Prophet, peace be upon him), it is recommended for the worshiper to recite the supplication: "I seek refuge in Allah from the torment of Hell, I seek refuge in Allah from the torment of the grave, I seek refuge in Allah from the trial of the Dajjal (Antichrist), I seek refuge in Allah from the trials of life and death." Then, he should supplicate for himself and for the Muslims. The worshiper should not intentionally say the salutation (taslim) before this supplication, because omitting it leads to missing out on much good. However, doing so does not affect the validity of the prayer as long as no pillar or obligatory act has been omitted. As for the Tashahhud, it comes before the Salawat upon the Prophet (peace be upon him).
