Is placing the Mushaf in front of the prostrating person with the intention of glorifying the Holy Qur’an considered polytheism (shirk) with Allah?

Honoring the Mushaf is done by reading it and acting upon what is in it, not by prostrating to it. If the prostration to the Mushaf was out of fear of Allah and ignorance, then, Allah willing, there is no sin upon the one who did it. This is supported by the hadith of the man who commanded his body to be burned and scattered, and Allah forgave him for doing so out of His awe and his ignorance of Allah's power. As Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned, ignorance for which the proof has not been established may be forgiven.
