Is expiation incumbent upon a wife who swore that her husband had become to her "like her brothers," and then retracted her oath a few days later?

The wife must offer expiation for breaking her oath by Allah. She should feed ten poor persons, or clothe them, or free a slave. If she is unable to do so, she must fast for three days. The wife's statement to her husband, "I made you like my brothers to me," does not make him unlawful for her, nor is it considered ẓihār. Rather, it is an oath for which she must offer expiation if she breaks it. One expiation is sufficient for both oaths as long as they pertain to the same matter and occurred before expiation was made. What is required for feeding each poor person is half a ṣāʿ of the staple food of the country (approximately 1.5 kg), and for clothing, what is sufficient for prayer, such as a shirt or an izār and a ridāʾ. It is also permissible to feed them lunch or dinner.
