Is it permissible to use food products that contain ethyl alcohol in their composition?

It is not permissible to mix ethyl alcohol with food if it causes intoxication. However, if the ethyl alcohol undergoes a complete transformation into a non-intoxicating substance before being mixed with anything else, then it becomes pure and can be used, as long as no harm is proven from it. This is because the name of intoxicant (khamr) and the description of intoxication are removed from it, and a ruling follows the name and description, whether they exist or not.
