Is it permissible to reject a fixed-salary job because it is outside one's field of specialization and would hinder one's diligence in the desired field, despite the need for money and having prayed for ease in finding work? And is this considered a rejection of Allah's blessing or a failure to take the necessary means?

It is permissible to refuse a job that does not suit one's specialization, especially if the goal is to seek a more suitable job that benefits Muslims, which is what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded when he said: "Be keen on what benefits you, seek Allah's help, and do not be helpless."

However, if refusing the job will lead to asking people for money, then accepting it in this case is better than asking them, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "For one of you to take his ropes, then take a bundle of firewood and sell it, so Allah protects his face thereby, is better than asking people whether they give him or refuse him."

It is recommended to consult those who offer good advice and perform Istikhara (prayer for guidance).
