Does the verse: {Do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part?} apply to Christians who hold onto the Qur’an to prove the divinity of Christ, and how do I respond to them?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

There is nothing in the Quran to indicate the divinity of Christ; rather, it explicitly states the falsehood, disbelief, and polytheism of the Christians, as in His Almighty saying: {They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary} and His saying: {They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is the third of three}. The verse you are referring to was revealed concerning the Jews who apply some rulings of the Torah and abandon others, and the lesson is in the generality of the wording. Thus, whoever believes in part of the Book of Allah and rejects part of it, his recompense is disgrace in this world and torment in the Hereafter.
