It is permissible to recite غزلي (amorous) poetry that is free from obscenity, descriptions of charms, or specific flirtation, provided that the poet does not explicitly refer to a specific woman by mentioning her attributes, and does not excessively praise his wife or slave woman, otherwise his testimony would be rejected. As for a woman reading such poetry addressed to her, even though its composition is not permissible, it is more appropriate for her to avoid it to protect herself.
