Is it permissible for a deceitful wife to describe other women with untrue characteristics in front of her husband, with the intention of diverting his thoughts from them, such as saying, "So-and-so is not beautiful"?
It is not permissible to lie about the husband or to slander women by describing them with what is not in them, because the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If what you said about him is true, you have backbitten him; and if it is not true, then you have slandered him."
The husband must be reminded to fear Allah and not to attach his heart to a woman who is not lawful for him. And whoever describes women to him must be reminded to fear Allah, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No woman should touch another woman and then describe her to her husband as if he is looking at her." Describing a woman to her husband is disliked, whether it is praise or dispraise, because it may lead to temptation or backbiting.
