Is it forbidden to eat food from a wedding banquet where music is played?

The Deobandis are a sect of Muslims who follow Abu Mansur al-Maturidi's school of thought in creed, Abu Hanifa's in jurisprudence, and practice Sufi طرق (paths/orders). Scholars have divided invitations to food into two categories: the wedding banquet (walimat al-urs), which is obligatory to accept, and other invitations, which are commendable. A condition for accepting an invitation is that there should be no reprehensible act (munkar) present. If a reprehensible act is present and the invited person can remove it, then attendance is obligatory. If unable to remove it, then it is forbidden to attend. The food itself is not described as forbidden, even if there is a reprehensible act; the prohibition is related to attending where the reprehensible act is present, not to the food itself.
