Why did the Prophet not marry when Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) was alive?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not marry another woman during Khadijah’s lifetime, may Allah be pleased with her, in honor of her. This is because she was the first to believe in him and affirm him, she strengthened his resolve and supported him with her wealth, and he was blessed with children from her. It was narrated from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that whenever the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned Khadijah, he would praise her. Al-Hafiz mentioned in Al-Fath that his not marrying another woman while she was alive is proof of her great status in his eyes and her abundant virtue, as she sufficed him from others, and he protected her heart from jealousy and the distress of co-wives.
