Is the name Kamal permissible Islamically?

There is no objection to being named "Al-Kamal" (Perfection), as it does not imply self-praise for its bearer. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade names that imply self-praise, such as "Barrah" (Pious), saying: "Do not praise yourselves; Allah knows best who among you are truly righteous." It is disliked to be named with names that carry the meaning of self-praise or to attach an opposite meaning to the name of the person. However, changing names is not obligatory, but rather a matter of choice.
