The answer

A man is not obligated to pay a dowry to the girls as long as the matter is merely a suspicion and the virginity has not been proven to be lost. He must conceal the matter for himself and for them, and not inform anyone about it or speak to the girls or their guardians, due to the corruption that would result from that. Al-Ghazali said: "He who has wronged someone regarding his family, children, or the like, there is no justification for seeking their forgiveness openly, for it would generate discord and resentment. Rather, he should turn to Allah Almighty to appease them on his behalf."
