Is it permissible to take injections to determine the sex of the fetus?

Determining the gender of the fetus, if done through in-vitro fertilization, its ruling has been previously clarified. However, if it is done by other means, free from the mixing of lineages and the exposure of 'awrah (intimate parts) without necessity, and other prohibitions, then there is no شرعاً (religiously) objectionable aspect to it, provided there is no harm to the mother and the fetus. Nevertheless, it is preferable to leave it. A resolution has been issued by the Islamic Fiqh Academy permitting the determination of the baby's gender if possible, while preferring to leave it and be content with what Allah has destined.
