Does one discharge their responsibility in selling a defective car by saying, "Inspect the car," or by mentioning the defects generally without detailing them, given the seller's need for its price?

The seller must disclose any defects they are aware of in the merchandise. Concealing them is deceit and fraud, even if the buyer conducts an inspection that might not reveal the defect. If the seller deceives, the sale is not invalidated according to the majority of scholars, but the buyer has the option to either annul the sale or uphold it. They have cited the Hadith of Al-Musarrah, which establishes the buyer's option but does not invalidate the sale. Whoever desires blessing in their sale must be truthful and transparent, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If they are truthful and make clear, blessings will be bestowed upon them in their sale; and if they lie and conceal, the blessing of their sale will be obliterated."
