Does the reward of the one who planted a palm tree or sowed a crop continue after his death if his heirs benefit from it?

It has been authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that a Muslim will be rewarded for every plant or crop from which a bird, human, or animal eats, and it will be considered a charity for him. Likewise, he will be rewarded for what he gives in charity from his crops to people or gives to his household.
