If the gold belongs to the wife, it is not permissible for the husband to take it or dispose of it without her consent. He must return it to her, or return something similar to it, or its value in cash with her consent. However, if the gold belongs to the husband and he lent it to his wife for adornment, he is permitted to reclaim it and dispose of it. In this case, the wife's supplication against him would be an unjust supplication.
